Thank you for visiting Saint John Vianney's webpage!

Saint John Vianney Church was formed in 1967 when Bishop Gerald O'Keefe announced a new parish
would be formed for families who live north of Middle Road. Father John McGrath was appointed
pastor on September 7th that year.

For two years Mass was celebrated in Bettendorf Middle School gymnasium. Holy Day Masses were celebrated at
Bettendorf Presbyterian Church, Saint Peter's Episcopal Church and Asbury Methodist Church.

In September 1968 eight acres of farmland was purchased; construction of the liturgical center began the following
month. The first Mass in the new building was celebrated November 27, 1969. At that time there was permanent
seating for 220 parishioners.

Today, following several additions and renovations, over 1800 families call Saint John Vianney their spiritual home.
We offer spiritual nourishment through liturgy, faith formation, social action, and fellowship for all age groups.

Enjoy paging through our website. We welcome you to join our parish community for prayer, ministry and
community.
